We're not a catalogue. We're a team of specialists who understand the brands, the applications, the compliance requirements, and the conditions your meter will face in the field.
Whether you're an irrigation farmer managing water consent compliance, a council engineer maintaining municipal infrastructure, or a plant manager keeping industrial processes on spec, getting the right flow meter matters. NZ Flow Group are New Zealand's flow meter specialists. We supply, advise on, and support a wide range of flow meters across irrigation, municipal water and wastewater, and industrial applications, nationwide.
No two applications are the same. The right flow meter for a Canterbury irrigation scheme looks very different to what a wastewater treatment plant or a food processing facility needs. We work across all three sectors and understand the specific demands, regulations, and performance requirements of each.
Water is one of New Zealand's most regulated resources, and irrigation consent holders are under increasing pressure to measure, record, and report their water takes accurately. Under the National Policy Statement for Freshwater Management (NPS-FM) and ECan consent conditions, your flow meter must be installed correctly, verified to within ±5% accuracy, and re-verified every five years.
NZ Flow Group supplies irrigation flow meters that meet these requirements from day one. We'll help you choose a meter suited to your pipe size, flow rates, and site conditions, and because we also offer installation and verification services in Canterbury, we understand what works in the field, not just on paper.
Councils and water utilities across New Zealand rely on accurate flow measurement for billing, network management, leak detection, and regulatory reporting. We supply flow meters suited to the demanding conditions of municipal networks: high-cycle operation, variable flow rates, and the need for long-term reliability with minimal maintenance. We have established working relationships with the majority of local and district councils in and around the Canterbury region, and supply meters to municipal customers nationwide.
In industrial settings, flow measurement is often tied directly to process quality, product consistency, and operational efficiency. A meter that drifts out of spec doesn't just affect compliance, it affects your product and your bottom line. We supply flow meters for a wide range of industrial applications across New Zealand, from food and beverage processing to manufacturing and chemical handling.
We're not tied to any single manufacturer. We work with Siemens, Endress+Hauser, Krohne, ABB, and others, and will recommend the best meter for your application, not the one that suits our margins.
From ECan consent conditions and the NPS-FM to the New Zealand Water Measurement Code of Practice, when you buy a meter from us, you're getting advice from people who understand what your meter needs to do to keep you compliant.
Flow meter supply is available to any NZ address. For Canterbury customers we offer the complete package: supply, installation, verification, and ongoing maintenance. For customers outside Canterbury, we supply the right meter with the guidance you need.

The most widely used flow meter type across irrigation, municipal, and industrial applications in New Zealand. No moving parts, highly reliable, accurate, and low maintenance. Ideal for water, wastewater, and any conductive liquid. Handles dirty water and suspended solids well. Available from 25mm to 2000mm diameter.
For installations in tight spaces, such as close to an elbow, tee, or pump, zero:zero (0:0) mag meters are also available. These don't require the straight, uninterrupted pipe runs upstream and downstream that standard mag meters need, as manufacturers use different internal flow-conditioning techniques to compensate. This makes them a practical option when space constraints rule out a standard installation.
We supply mag meters from Siemens, Endress+Hauser, Krohne, and ABB.
Measure flow using sound waves, either clamp-on (no pipe penetration) or inline sensors. Clamp-on is particularly useful for large diameter pipes above 400mm where cutting into the pipeline is impractical. Also popular for temporary measurement, verification of existing meters, or situations where the process can't be interrupted.
Inline ultrasonic meters offer high accuracy for clean water applications and are increasingly specified in municipal networks.
Use a rotating impeller driven by the flow of water. Cost-effective for clean water applications with relatively stable flow rates, and well established in the irrigation sector. Require more maintenance than mag or ultrasonic meters due to moving parts.
A practical and affordable choice for smaller pipe sizes and budget-constrained replacements.
Flow meter selection can be complicated. Pipe size, fluid type, flow range, accuracy requirements, power supply, communication outputs, budget, and site conditions all play a role. Getting it wrong is an expensive mistake.
We supply electromagnetic (mag) flow meters, ultrasonic flow meters, and mechanical/turbine flow meters from leading manufacturers including Siemens, Endress+Hauser, Krohne, and ABB. We work across irrigation, municipal water and wastewater, and industrial applications.
Flow meter sales and supply are available nationwide across New Zealand. Our installation, verification, and maintenance services are currently based in Canterbury, but we can supply meters to any region and provide remote guidance on installation requirements.
For most NZ irrigation applications, an electromagnetic (mag) flow meter is the recommended choice. Mag meters have no moving parts, handle water with suspended solids well, and deliver the ±5% accuracy required under ECan consent conditions and the NPS-FM. The right size and brand will depend on your pipe diameter, flow rates, and power supply, contact us and we'll help you spec the right one.
Absolutely, that's one of the most valuable things we offer. Flow meter selection depends on fluid type, pipe size, required accuracy, flow range, installation conditions, and compliance requirements. We provide free pre-purchase advice to make sure you get the right meter for your situation.
Yes. The meters we supply are selected to meet the requirements of the New Zealand Water Measurement Code of Practice and the accuracy standards required under ECan consent conditions (±5%). We understand the compliance landscape for irrigation, municipal, and industrial users and factor this into our recommendations.
We supply flow meters from leading international manufacturers including Siemens, Endress+Hauser, Krohne, and ABB, among others. Being independent of any single brand means we can recommend the best meter for your application rather than defaulting to one product range.
Delivery timeframes vary depending on the meter type, size, and configuration. Standard stock items can often be delivered within a few business days to most NZ locations. Custom configurations or larger diameter meters may have longer lead times. Contact us with your requirements and we'll give you an accurate delivery estimate.
Tell us about your application and we'll recommend the right meter, configuration, and brand, no obligation.
